Services/Products:

AKA: Those monkey things we do

Code-Monkeys has spent the last many years creating and recreating a lot of custom software solutions. But over time, we've seen several items that we build over and over again and that has lead us to increasingly mature and useful products that we list here for your information. Of course each item is broadly customizable, totally skinable, and just generally wam-jamable...(write for an estimate)

Stand-Alone Products:

This class of products are one-off, stand-alone items to be installed either as a complete application or as a portion of a larger website. These products do not specifically interact with other CM products however they often exist alongside other products and when appropriate may connect to CM Backbone Modules as appropriate.

  • CM Content Management System
Content management systems all seek to give untrained, remote users the ability to make textual modifications to their website without the need for technical training or special software. The CM-CMS is built on the widely celebrated FCK-Editor front-end but then goes on to add robust back-end function for more complex tasks like document linking, graphic uploading, and integration with Dreamweaver templates allowing not only editing, but page creation as well.
    • CM Meta Manager
In addition to editing the main content of a page, many users are specifically attempting to optimize their websites for search engines like Google. To best accomplish that goal, the CM-CMS offers an additional module to manage and edit the various meta-data tags associated with webpages. These tags, which are invisible to the human viewer, play an important role in making he most of a web page and its ability to be ranked by search engines.
    • CM Infini-Menu
One of the most desired uses for CMS systems is the ability to alter a website’s navigation system. This add-on to the basic CMS tool allows a user to manipulate the entire navigation sequence, including submenus and (if present) third, fourth, and fifth level menus. In theory, there is no limit to how many layers such an XML based menu system might go, but sites using more than four layers of navigation are exceptionally rare.
  • CM Locator
This package is used in 'find a store near you' applications. By comparing the zip code entered by a user, with the zip codes of various assets in the website database, we can find the distance between any two locations or, more commonly, find a list of all locations within a certain radius of the user. Additionally, our extensive experience with integrating Google Earth with web applications allows us to link this kind of function with the supa-swank 3D features, but that's a totally custom gig.

Interrelated Backbone Products:

Our series of CM Backbone modules are all designed as plug-and-play add-ons to our universal category backbone. Given the installation of this generic framework, the following systems all plug in to the backbone and then work with each other seamlessly with minimal configuration. So a user might start with a CM Photo Gallery and later add in the Shopping Cart to sell those photos. These systems will recognize the presence of other supporting modules and modify behavior accordingly in order to provide added features automatically.

  • CM Photo Gallery
The CM Photo Gallery combines a robust organizational structure with a customizable, animated, JavaScript based front end that includes thumbnails, captions, and slide-show functionality into one very attractive presenter. Targeted more for the ‘gallery’ than the ‘portfolio’ the tool can easily be upgraded to a Flash front-end for an even better presentation and larger catalog. Linked with the shopping cart, the photo gallery allows for multiple product images per entry.
  • CM Media Manager
The CM Media Manger is specially designed to help users who need to manage and present a large catalog of documents, film clips, music files, or any other collection of digital assets. Where the photo gallery is targeted at visual images that are browsed through, the document manager is designed to present long lists of documents in a logical and easily accessible manner for download. Assets are tagged with information like author, date, synopsis etc.
  • CM Event Calendar
The CM Event Calendar is used to track and present time sensitive information like meetings, concerts, or available rental dates. With a great deal of flexibility, the calendar module allows for multi-day events, recurring events, and can be set to send email reminders to attendees.
  • CM Shopping Cart
Our shopping cart / ecommerce system is the culmination of several years building various ecommerce applications and represents the distillation of that experience. Balancing a rich feature set with ease of use, the CM Shopping Cart integrates with a wide variety of popular merchant services including PayPal, Authorize.Net and SecurePay.
    • CM Merchandiser
The Merchandiser is an add-on to the CM Shopping Cart that allows a website administrator to quickly create sales, specials offers and promotional objects using his own catalog of products. When entered, these 'end-caps' appear in the live site to generate additional sales on featured products. The merchandiser is a must-have for anybody who will be using their CM Shopping Cart as a significant revenue stream for their business.
    • CM Upseller
The upseller system allows a site administrator to create connections between various products in his/her catalog that are then used to suggest other, related products at checkout. For example making the link between a printer and an extra toner cartridge. Connections can be one-directional or bi-directional and allow for unlimited connections between products.
  • CM News/PR Manager
A very common desire for business websites is the simple publication or periodic press releases, news stories or newsletters. Similar to the media manager but more focused on time frame aspect of its contents, the News/PR Manger is a very popular addition to any business site. These can be configured to allow email and/or RSS subscriptions as well.
  • CM FAQ Writer
Another very popular website feature is the Frequently Asked Questions page. However, despite its popularity, most FAQs are written once and neglected for years, making their content dated at best or inaccurate at worst. The FAQ tool is used by site administrators who actually wants to answer the questions that are, in fact, asked frequently by their customers. This tool allows an administrator to track questions from customers, categorize them into common themes and provide current answers to common questions. The tool invites users to rate the current answers, pose new questions, and send question/answer pairs to email recipients.
