New Look for JB Instant Lawn

JB Instant lawn has a brand new look and additional functionality to boot.

The rebuilt web presence put Newberg based Code-Monkeys, and Salem design firm DesignPoint together again for a winning combination that includes Flash navigation, database integration, and solid ColdFusion scripting.

You may recognize JB Instant Lawn's name from their unmistakable monument sign along I-5 near Wilsonville. You may also wonder why a business so concerned with soil, sod, and seed would need a cutting edge web site.

"JB Instant Lawn found that they were spending a lot of time and energy producing and printing up to date inventories for their sales staff and wholesale customers", said Chris Skaggs of Code-Monkeys. "We showed them a way to easily make the website do much of that work for them. It saves them a bunch of time and money by keeping all the information in a single location that can be seen from anywhere in the country - anywhere with an internet connection that is."

"Flash hybrid sites are really catching on.", said Paul Bryant, the lead designer on this project. "The ability to mix animated Flash elements with traditional HTML and ColdFusion interactivity really creates a 'best of both worlds' situation. Instead of cutting either functionality or 'pop' we just make a site that has both. Code-Monkeys' ability to get these two technologies to work together has really allowed me the freedom to design exciting websites."

JB Instant Lawn is a Silverton based wholesale nursery that specializes in roll out sod and provides sod and spray on hydroseeding all over Oregon and Washington. "We were just dreading this project," said Cindy Metzger of JB Instant Lawn. "there were so many horror stories of web site projects gone wrong. But the people at DesignPoint and Code-Monkeys really created a great product and they've been great about maintaining the site when we need new features or changes. Of course there were speed bumps along the way, but if all of this were easy good help wouldn't be so hard to find."
